Dalton Man Delvin Williams Accused of Dragging Officer Arrested
Delvin Williams

DALTON, Ga. - A man accused of dragging a Dalton police officer is in custody.

Police arrested 31-year-old Delvin Williams around 3 a.m. Tuesday at a friend’s house.

Police say an officer stopped Williams' car on Saturday, after he nearly caused a crash.

The officer said he was attempting to arrest him for driving under the influence, when Williams broke away and drove off as the officer hung on to his car door.

The officer was injured in the ordeal, but is expected to be OK.
