FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Fulton County schools may close College Park Elementary School at the end of the current school year.

Fulton County schools say decreasing enrollment and facility conditions are the main factors in the possible closing.

A public meeting is planned for December 8 at 7 p.m. at College Park Elementary School.

School officials say district policy states that elementary schools with fewer than 450 students can be considered for closure. At 276 students, College Park Elementary falls below the minimum and has experienced a steadily declining enrollment since 2002.

Should the school close, attendance zones around the elementary schools in south Fulton County will have to be modified, say school officials.
