Samuel Bazemore and his family show off his $2.5 million check for winning in the Millionaire Jumbo Bucks instant ticket game. Bazemore lives in Guyton and purchased his ticket at the Snack Barrel at Highways 21 and 275.

ATLANTA -- A Powder Springs crane specialist got quite a lift when he scratched off the $2.5 million top prize in the Millionaire Jumbo Bucks Georgia Lottery instant win game.

Samuel Bazemore purchased the ticket at Snack Barrel on Ebenezer Road in Rincon, on his way home from work.

”When I got to the No. 14, I saw the numbers then the comma and the zeros, Bazemore said. ”I almost passed out.

”I put my thumb over the amount and checked the ticket with the clerk, he said. ”When I removed my thumb, the whole store went wild.

Bazemore, 51, and his wife, Lisa, have five children and three grandchildren. The couple, who have lived in the Savannah area for the past six months, will put their Powder Springs home on the market.

”I travel all over, he shared. ”My (parents) can be near my wife and children.

Bazemore intends to use his winnings for his children’s college education.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has retued more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
