A firefighter was taken to the hospital early Thursday, December 23, after being hurt battling flames at a Cobb County home.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A firefighter was taken to the hospital Thursday moing after being hurt battling flames at a Cobb County home.

It happened early Thursday on Godfrey Drive.

Fire crews arrived and managed to put out the blaze. Authorities say a piece of sheetrock hit a firefighter in the head. He complained of neck pain and was taken for treatment.

What started the fire is not known.
