Rockdale County sheriff's officials say a boy was killed in a two-car crash in Conyers.

Sheriff's investigator Michael Camp says the accident involving a van and a SUV happened on West Hightower Trail near Zingara Road around 4:40 Thursday afteoon.

Camp says a minivan pulled out in front of a SUV, which could not avoid the collision. A 6-year-old boy riding in the minivan was pronounced dead on the scene. Camp says the boy's 52-year-old grandfather and his 28-year-old daughter were hospitalized. A 16-year-old boy and his 74-year-old grandmother riding in the SUV were also hospitalized.

Camp says the injuries don't appear to be life threatening. The cause of the crash is under investigation but Camp says the 52-year-old man may face charges.
