Cherokee County police arrest alleged sexual predator

Cherokee County police arrested a man they said had been having inappropriate communication online with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

According to police, Adrian Aguilera, 24, of Cumming, was arrested after he showed up at Hobgood Park in Woodstock Friday night.

Police said he had the intention of meeting with a 13-year-old girl he had been communicating with online since July.

The person who he was communicating with was actually a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Inteet Crimes Against Children detective.

Aguilera was arrested and charged with 13 counts of obscene inteet contact with a minor, two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, two counts of electronic obscene materials to a minor and one count of attempted child molestation.

He remains in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center on a $160,000 bond.
