Carter: Egyptian Leader May Have to Leave Office
ATLANTA - Former president Jimmy Carter said Egyptian president Hosni Mubarek will probably have to leave office.
Carter brokered the historic peace agreement between Israel and Egypt in 1978.
In an interview with the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, the former president calls the unrest the most profound situation in the Middle East since he left office in 1981.
Carter also said that as Mubarak's 30-year rule has continued, the leader has become more politically corrupt.
