Gwinnett County Police have charged Olivia Annette Smith with murder and aggravated assault after a deadly shooting Thursday night.

The 36-year-old woman is accused of killing her husband Cory who was the father of her two children. Investigators say things went terribly wrong when Mrs. Smith went to her husband's apartment off Buford Highway around 9 p.m. Thursday.

Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Deon Washington says the two had an argument that ended with Mrs. Smith shooting her 34-year-old husband. Cory Smith moved out of the couple's home on Roxholly Walk in Buford in January. It is a move that followed a January 22nd temporary restraining order along with a history of domestic disputes between the couple. But Det. Washington says, while there were calls for service regarding disputes at the couple's home, there were no reports of physical violence.

DFAC officials have been contacted since the Smiths had 3 children, but for now, those children—who are 7, 9 and 12—are with their mother's relatives.
