Brothers Charley and Lapraver Burton Arrested in 13-Year-Old Girl's Rape

The mother of a 13-year-old sexual assault victim has a waing for other parents, and it comes as police arrest two brothers in connection to the heinous crime. Charley and Lapraver Burton are behind bars at the DeKalb County Jail, charged with aggravated child molestation.

The girl’s mother says her mentally-impaired daughter was raped repeatedly over the course of several hours. The young girl is now terrified and traumatized, according to her mother.

Police say the attack happened on July 19 at the Burton family home. The girl’s mother says she suffered from a manic episode that night around 8 p.m., and went running out of her family’s home. Her mother says their family searched for her, but she was picked up and taken to the Burton brothers’ home.

After the attack, police say the victim was dropped off near her house. They say it was actually a DeKalb County police officer who found her in the street while responding to her mother’s call for a missing persons report. When the girl was brought home, she told her family what had happened to her.

The girl’s mother says her daughter told her the brothers gave her marijuana and cigarettes, and they attacked her repeatedly in their home. The details of the attacks are very graphic.

The brothers are being held at the DeKalb County Jail, and police say the charges against them could be upgraded.

The victim’s family is afraid to stay in their home after the attack, and they say they have even been chased through their neighborhood. The girl’s mother says they’re staying in a hotel, and they don’t know what to do next, but they are relieved that the arrests have been made.
