Hall County Authorities recovered the body of missing Dekalb County Firefighter Jason Blalock Thursday afteoon.
Blalock’s body was pulled from Lake Lanier by dive teams. Investigators said he was last seen Saturday at Sunset Cove. His Jeep was found there, but there was no sign of Blalock.
The 37-year-old firefighter was assigned to DeKalb County Fire Station 24.
DeKalb County Fire Chief Daell Fullum released the following statement Thursday:
”We are deeply saddened by the news of the loss of one of our own, Firefighter (FAO) Jason Blalock. His untimely death has affected us all. He was an eleven year veteran of the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department and proudly served at one of the busiest, Fire Stations 24. We offer our condolences to the Blalock family and stand with them as they mo their loss.
