Body Found In Burned Home In Paulding County

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. -- Fire investigators said they found a body inside a buing home in Paulding County on Monday evening.

Paulding County Fire Department spokeswoman Mary Ann Phipps said the body of an elderly woman was found as firefighters battled a blaze that spread to another home.

The fire broke out at about 3:15 p.m. at a home on Ivy Trace Lane in the Ivy Trace Subdivision in Dallas.

Investigators said the fire started in one home and high winds pushed the blaze to a second home.

Officials said it took 21 Paulding County firemen to fight the blaze. They had it under control in an hour, officials said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known. The victim’s identity has not been released. The state fire marshal is investigating.
