Families whose loved ones were killed in violent crimes were honored in Douglas County on Wednesday for their fight for justice.

The mother of a teen who was killed by a group of young men in  a random attack was recognized.

Bobby Tillman's mother, Monique Rivarde, was given the "Victims' Voice" award for her dedication to victims' rights.

Douglas County District Attoey David McDade says the Tillman family became a pillar of strength during a horrible time in their lives.

After being presented with her award, Monique Rivarde presented the district attoey and his staff with their own plaque for all they have done for their family, and other families.
