ATLANTA — Over 1,000 motorcycle riders and enthusiasts are gearing up to collect non-perishable canned goods and bottled to feed the less fortunate.

The Atlanta Motorcycle Clubs Feeding Families for Christmas food drive is scheduled for Dec. 8.

Volunteers will donate items to the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children and St. Francis Table Soup Kitchen.

The group's goal is to donate food the agencies can use in boxed holiday meals that will be given to needy families.

Now in its fourth year, the food drive is being sponsored by Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson and Rides Magazine.

Volunteers will be collecting water and canned goods at 2031 Metropolitan Parkway in Atlanta between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
