SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - Police say a man suspected of robbing a bank in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs was later shot and killed by a police officer in Atlanta after a car chase.

Sandy Springs police Lt. Steve Rose says the man was accused of robbing a Wells Fargo bank shortly before noon. Sandy Springs police and Georgia State Patrol officers pursued the man’s car south on Georgia 400 as the chase entered Atlanta.

Authorities say they followed the car into Atlanta’s Buckhead area, where there was a confrontation with at least one Atlanta police officer.
