Atlanta to host Global Peace Conference

ATLANTA — The Marriott Marquis in Atlanta will host the Global Peace Conference, a series of forums and youth events centered on inteational development and peacemaking strategies.

The event runs from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, and is expected to draw inteational leaders, including 11 former Latin American presidents.

Participants will collaborate on strategies in education, health care, environmental sustainability, community development and conflict resolution.

Atlanta is the first American city to host the event, which has been held in the Philippines, Kenya and in South Korea.

Democratic state Sen. Emanuel Jones and Dr. Robert Schuller Jr., will co-chair the event.
