Atlanta Teen Kez Crenshaw Arrested After Shooting Family Member’s Boyfriend
Atlanta police have taken a 17-year-old into custody on suspicion of shooting a relative’s boyfriend following a dispute Saturday evening in southwest Atlanta.
According to authorities, officers were called around 6:15 p.m. to a residence on the 200 block of Peyton Place SW, where they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition — alert, conscious and breathing — police said.
Officers arrested Kez Crenshaw at the scene. Investigators believe the victim was the boyfriend of one of Crenshaw’s family members and that an argument between the teens and the adult preceded the shooting. Police say the boyfriend insisted on speaking with his girlfriend despite her denial before the shooting occurred.
Crenshaw is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and unlawful possession of a firearm as a minor. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail. It is not yet clear whether the weapon used has been recovered by authorities.
