Atlanta police are launching a new program that will allow them to communicate directly with the public. Police said Thursday that they are hopeful the APD Alerts program will help them track down leads and find criminals.

ATLANTA - Atlanta police are launching a new program that will allow them to communicate directly with the public. Police said Thursday that they are hopeful the APD Alerts program will help them track down leads and find criminals.

The new mobile alert system will provided subscribers with safety tips, waings, advisories and information about their communities.

To register, go to www.atlantapd.org/alertregistration.aspx and follow the instructions.
