Armed robbery suspect Doyle Thomas Brittain found dead in jacuzzi
ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. -- Athens-Clarke County police said they responded to a man discovered face down and unresponsive Monday in the Jacuzzi at Comfort Inn and Suites on Old Epps Road.
Reports said CPR was administered, but Doyle Thomas Brittain, 41, was pronounced dead at Athens Regional Medical Center a short time later.
Police said evidence at the scene points to Brittain as being the suspect from an armed robbery of a quantity of oxycodone from Walgreen's Pharmacy at 110 Hawthorme Ave. that occurred at 4:37 p.m. Monday.
Brittain was identified as the suspect by a review of the video from the robbery, according to reports.
