Gruesome: The 32-year-old model posted these photos of her face after she fell while attempting to do a handstand
The 5ft 9in blonde, who won Cycle 17 of Tyra Banks' ANTM in 2011, told People.com she had just wrapped filming indie movie Cowboys and Indians and was 'monkeying around' with a pal on set.
She was attempting to do a handstand up against the crew member, who has not been named, but instead, her handstand partner fell on top of her.
'It was a totally freak accident. It wasn't like we were doing back flips off the balcony,' she explained.
As People reports, D'Amato was taken to an emergency room but was referred to another hospital for cosmetic surgery.
Message to her fans: The upbeat television personality explained more about the accident on her Instagram account, and showed she's healing up well
Trying to laugh off the incident, she added: 'I didn't have the best nose in the world to begin with. It gave me character. Now I have a nice little nose job. I get a super cute nose.'
The incident came at a particularly bad time for the star, who was planning to leave for a belated honeymoon with husband Adam Friedman shortly after production wrapped.
D'Amato did not say if the pair were postponing their trip.
The model married Friedman, an entrepreneur, in Hollywood, Califoia last September.

'Thanks for all the kinds wishes and conces,' she wrote, adding, [I] will be gladly willing to show off my new Disney Princess face that Dr. Magic said I'd have after headling.... As you can see I'm doing just fine.'
