Alleged townhome drug ring busted in Forsyth County

Forsyth County Sheriff's investigators arrested five young people accused of running a drug operation out of a Cumming townhome.

"We recovered a tremendous amount of Ecstasy, hash, marijuana, LSD," Sheriff Ted Paxton told reporters.

The five people living at the Summit Crossing Apartments home were all between the ages of 18 and 20, and Paxton said investigators believe they were selling drugs to other young people in the community.

The five arrested, who are all from Cumming, include: Noah Paul Spicer, 20; Alex Robichaux, 19; Evan Michael Snider, 20; Kara Lane Buffington, 18; and Joshua Taylor Bell, 19.

"We're confident we made a very good impact on the flow of drugs into that age group here in Forsyth County," he said.

Investigators got a search warrant after receiving complaints from neighbors. One neighbor said she noticed a lot of traffic coming in and out of the home. She told Viteri the gate to the complex had been broken twice.

In addition to the designer drugs, investigators found several unknown substances in the home they had to send to the state crime lab.

"The truth of the matter is they really don't have any idea what it is what may be mixed with it, what it's been exposed to," Paxton cautioned.

He said the five are charged with possession with intent to distribute the drugs. All five are at the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond. They are scheduled to have a drug court review July 23.
