Those close to a slain professional wrestler are disappointed to lea that his accused killer has faced murder charges before.DeKalb County police arrested the suspect in the fatal shooting of Chris Long, who also worked as a bouncer at a strip club, on Wednesday.

Ahmed R. Gill, 31, was taken into custody at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at a townhome in Stone Mountain in connection with the Nov. 21 shooting.+

Police said Long, also known as Solid, was shot while protecting a pair of women at Shooter Alley on Buford Highway. A close friend told Channel 2 Action News that Long worked at the club to ea extra money for his family.

Witnesses said that a few customers got out of hand at the club, and Long kicked them out of the business. Police said the group, including Gill, retued to the club and opened fire.Gill was previously arrested and charged with murder after a 2008 bar fight in Kentucky, but investigators said a jury acquitted him.”All I know is there was a hole there, and he got through that hole and Chris died because he got through that hole, Long’s wife, Lisa, said.

Chris Long’s viewing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday. His funeral will be held at noon on Saturday. Both will be held at the Carmichael Funeral home in Smya.
