Accused child molester Elmer Moffitt arrested in Fulton Co.
A convicted sex offender who was the subject of a nationwide manhunt spent the Christmas holiday in the Fulton County Jail.
Police said 47-year-old Elmer Moffitt sexually assaulted a young girl while staying with her family in 2011.
The girl waited two years to report the crime, but police were able to find cause to arrest Moffitt and later leaed he is a convicted sex offender in Minnesota wanted for failing to register there.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force found Moffitt in McDonough just before Christmas. He is in the Fulton County Jail with no bond on felony child molestation charges.
