3 suspects taken into custody after police chase
Police chase ends with 3 arrests on live TV

A chase ended when a Georgia State Patrol vehicle sideswiped the suspect's car during rush hour near downtown Atlanta on Thursday.

The pursuit began in Fayette County and lasted more than 30 minutes. It involved Georgia State Patrol, East Point police and Atlanta police. It is not known what started the chase, which went through several residential areas and ended at the Interstate 20/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive ramp.

After the GSP vehicle hit the car, it spun around and stopped on a guardrail.  Authorities then took three suspects into custody.

Authorities said that those three suspects are also connected to a string of violent carjackings that span across the metro area.

Police said the vehicle used in Thursday's chase was stolen from a woman in front of a Kohl's department store in Fayetteville. That woman wasn't injured, just shaken up, officials said.
