SMYRNA, Ga. — Three people were sent to the hospital with injuries that weren't believed to be life-threatening after the deck of a suburban Atlanta home collapsed.

WGCL-TV reports (http://bit.ly/Y89D0j ) that eight people were on the deck in Smya when it collapsed around 7:40 p.m. Thursday following a Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends.

Anitra Page told the television station she's renting the home and moved in just a few weeks ago. She says she was inside the house when she heard people screaming that the porch had fallen.

Ryan Logan, whose girlfriend was injured in the collapse, says it appears the part of the deck closest to the home pulled away from the house.

The Smya Fire Department says three people were taken to a hospital for treatment.
