Union City police are investigating a violent home invasion that left two people dead and two others critically injured.

Police arrived just after 11 p.m. Saturday on Tartan Court at the Shannon Glen subdivision.  They found two parents dead and their two sons, a 12-year-old and 19-year-old, struggling to survive.

Neighbor Graylen Rainey spoke to Channel 2’s Sophia Choi about the tragic incident.

”The front door was kicked in and they ran in.  All of them had guns, Rainey said.  ”They say it was like five guys.  They ran in on them.  They came in and started shooting.

Relatives said both children have since had surgery and are in critical condition.

Another neighbor, Cassandra Rainey, called the whole situation, which leaves the young victims without their parents, disheartening.

”How could you tell them that?  What words can you say to children that their mother and father were shot?" she said.  ”To shoot a child – an innocent child. All for the love of money.

Police have not released much information at this time, including whether they’ve made any arrests.
