UPSON COUNTY, Ga. — A 19-year-old was found shot to death Thursday evening in Upson County, authorities confirmed Friday.

The Upson County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Conner Walker in a Facebook post. Deputies responded to a home on Wiley Street in Thomaston around 6:30 p.m., where they found Walker inside an outbuilding. Investigators said he had been shot in the head with what was described as an AR-15-style rifle.

Authorities said a 14-year-old has been located and is being held in connection with the shooting.

“Sheriff’s investigators are actively interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence in this case,” Dan Kilgore said in the post. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation responded to assist with processing the crime scene.
