18 iPads Stolen From Target Store in Buckhead
Surveillance Video Shows Thieves In Action

ATLANTA -- It took just seconds for two men to steal 18 iPads from a Target in Buckhead.

Channel 2’s Ryan Young got his hands on the surveillance video, and it is the first time anyone outside the Atlanta Police Department has seen it.

In the video, you can clearly see two men walking up to the Target on Peachtree Road at the Lenox Marketplace. It was just after 1 a.m. on July 1 when they boldly tried to pry open the front door.

”Using a crow bar, they are forcing the door open, said Det. Maxine McGrath as she explains the surveillance video.

Sources inside the Atlanta Police Department told Young that the men knew exactly what they were after.

”They go straight to the iPads. ”They break the counter on the iPad case, steal 18 iPads. Over $11,000, said McGrath.

Police said the men acted like pro's, wasting no time getting in and out of the store.

”Faces are covered, hands are covered. No prints, said McGrath.

Police told Young that mode technology will likely help catch the thieves.

Whomever tus the iPads on, they can be tracked, police said. In fact, two of the iPads have already been tracked down out of state.

If you have information about the thefts, call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
