UPDATE - 11 kids and a woman have been rescued. The man who held them hostage stabbed himself in the neck and is in serious condition, according to the police

Police are in a SWAT standoff in a motel in DeKalb County.

Police have Snapfinger Woods Drive closed off as they continue negotiating with the suspect.

Police said the man is holding a woman and 11 children hostage at the Rite4Us Inn and Suites motel.

Polic confirm the youngest child being held hostage is just 3 months old.

It is located near Interstate 20 off Wesley Chapel Road.

Police said the initial call was an assault involving a domestic dispute. A team of negotiators said the man was not cooperating and that he may be armed with a knife.

Police said they believe the woman and children are in danger.
