1 dead, 4 wounded in suspected drug related shooting

Police have begun an investigation into a shooting incident in DeKalb County that left one person dead and four others in critical condition on Wednesday afteoon.

Police rushed to a report of a person shot near the Hidden Meadows Townhouse in Stone Mountain at around 3 p.m. Wednesday. The officers recovered the gun at the scene of the crime. According to Antonio Caitlin, DeKalb County Police Major, investigators believe that the incident was a result of a drug transaction between two parties. Caitlin said that when officers arrived at the scene, they found the body of a man in front Lancashire Court apartments on Thowoode Lane, which is nearby the initial scene.

They also apprehended several other people at a third scene. ”The case is still fluid and we don’t know exactly who all was involved, but we think that we may have all of the individuals, said Caitlin. Investigators said that they detained four other suspects, all of whom were taken to medical centers with varying shooting-related injuries.
