There were some frightening moments at the Sandy Springs MARTA station when a rider walked right off a platform and onto the train tracks, and it was all caught on tape.

The incident took place a couple of weeks back, but MARTA police released the tape on Thursday. The video shows a train barreling toward the platform as the woman, Addie Norfleet, steps off.

Norfleet is seen walking down the steps and onto the platform. She steps off into the path of the oncoming train, and panicked riders waved their arms trying to get the train to stop. The conductor saw the woman, and was able to stop the train just before it hit her.

Police say Norfleet is visually impaired and didn’t’ see the end of the platform. She was treated at the hospital with minor injuries.

MARTA officials commended Norfleet's fellow passengers for coming to her rescue.   They released the following statement about the incident:

"The safety of our passengers is MARTAs top priority. We are extremely grateful for the quick and selfless reactions on the part of several brave passengers, and for the professionalism of our train operator, who prevented this unfortunate incident from resulting in any serious injuries."
