Woman, 71, attacked at assisted living facility, man on the run
COLUMBUS, Ga. - A 71-year-old woman was assaulted Thursday moing after police say a man forced his way into a senior citizen home in Columbus.
The man apparently made off with 25 canned goods, a box of frozen fish and frozen chicken wings from the home's kitchen. The incident happened about 1 a.m..
Police say the victim refused medical treatment although she received an injury to the right side of her neck and was nearly unconscious after the suspect tried to strangle her.
