Who’s your daddy? Pennsylvania embarrassed by birth certificate mix-up
Sorry, parents. Pennsylvania's Department of Vital Statistics admits a software glitch created 500 birth certificates with the wrong father’s name.
The agency has identified all the couples who were affected, and is scrambling to mail out corrected copies. Until then, we can all quietly enjoy the idea of a sleep-deprived new dad yelling at his wife, "Who the hell is this John Anderson, and why does the state think he’s Timmy’s father?" And with any luck, one of those 500 kids will grow up to be president, giving conspiracy theorists in 2063 a fun new "Birther" controversy to obsess over.
