Walmart employees Kasey Wright, Sharitha White and Tiffany Jones accused of stealing customer's wallet
Video shows an employee, identified by police as Kasey Wright, pick up the wallet minutes after it was dropped.

Three now former Walmart employees face charges alleging they stole a customer’s wallet, then racked up hundreds of dollars on his credit cards.

Robert Carroll told local reporter Mike Petchenik he was shopping at the Walmart in Milton Dec. 23 when he dropped his wallet.

"I walked back inside, 10, 15 minutes, it was already gone, he said.

Surveillance video shows Carroll’s wallet fall out of his jacket as he walks through the store.

A few minutes later, video shows an employee, identified by police as Kasey Wright, pick up the wallet.

”I get a call from my wife, she was like, ‘Hey did you spend $300 on our card?’ he said. ”I told her no, we never use that card except for bills and things.

Carroll said that a few minutes after that, his credit union called to let him know someone tried to use his ATM card, but it was denied.

Milton police Lt. Charles Barstow told Petchenik they tracked down the credit card purchases and leaed they were made at the store.

”From what we were able to glean from the investigation, (Wright) took the wallet instead of tuing it in and divided it up with some co-workers, and then they all made some fraudulent charges, he said.

Barstow said surveillance video also showed employees Sharitha White and Tiffany Jones charge Carroll’s card to load a gift card.

”It’s kind of hard for people not to know what employees were involved when you have that kind of camera footage, said Barstow. ”I think it’s a crime of opportunity. I think sometimes people have sticky fingers."

Police have charged Wright, White and Jones with theft and fraud charges.

Walmart spokesman Wyatt Jefferies told Petchenik the situation was unfortunate. He said when store managers leaed of the situation, loss prevention officers helped track down the video and led detectives to the employees, who he said were terminated immediately.

”I was hoping someone would be nice enough to pick up the wallet and retu it. I was just really shocked, he said. ”I thought that was really messed up all around.

Carroll said he would like an apology from the retail giant for the inconvenience.

”It was just a huge hassle; made everything worse for the holidays, he said.
