WALTON COUNTY, GA - Walton County police say a Walmart employee has been arrested after she scammed a customer out of a gift card.

Samaria Asia Williams, 21, an employee at the Walton County Walmart was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft. 

According to the police report, the customer purchased a $369 gift card this week however the card they took home ended up empty. When they retued it back to the Walmart in Walton County, the store realized from surveillance cameras that Williams put the customer's money on a separate card and gave the customer an empty card. She then went on break and spent $299. 

She was arrested and transported to the Walton County Detention Center.
