Villa Rica mom Ananya Lively arrested after leaving children in car

Police say a woman has been charged after leaving her two children unattended in a vehicle in Villa Rica.

Police were called out to a Walmart parking lot around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and found the children, ages 2 and 6, in a vehicle. The car was not running and the windows were open only one to two inches, according to police.

Investigators say Ananya Lively, 39, parked the vehicle around 2:53 p.m. and was gone for 25 minutes before retuing. Lively has been charged with cruelty to children and reckless conduct.

Witnesses told police one of the doors was unlocked and opened it to let cooler air inside the vehicle where the children were sleeping. An ambulance arrived on the scene and police say they were ”very hot, sweating and thirsty,

Police say after giving the children water, they appeared to be fine and were released to a relative.

Lively was taken to the Carroll County Jail.
