CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -

Families came together to mou the death of a baby girl and call for justice.

According to authorities, 1-year-old Jouey Cowart was pronounced dead at the Cartersville Medical Center on Tuesday.

Jouey's mother, 25-year-old Brandy Ann Boyd, and her boyfriend, 24-year-old Austin Levi Payne were arrested on charges of aggravated battery and first degree cruelty to children.

Sunday, the community came together for a vigil. In attendance were Jouey's grandparents who say they didn't know about the abuse.

Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap says that further charges on the pair are likely pending the final autopsy results.

Boyd and Payne are being held without bond at the Bartow County jail.
