UGA Grad Carlton Lewis, Waitress Shena Everett Accused Of Credit Card Scam
Shena Everett

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A University of Georgia graduate assistant and a Baton Rouge, La., waitress have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Tennessee in a scam to steal debit and credit card information from restaurant customers.

Waitress Shena Everett was in court Wednesday in Knoxville on a charge of conspiracy to commit access device fraud, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported. Her two co-defendants, Carlton Lewis and Derron Ridley, face additional charges of aggravated identity theft.

Lewis, who is a doctoral candidate at the university, was arrested in Knoxville on March 26 after police found 39 fake credit and debit cards and a device used to steal credit card information.

The indictment said Lewis directed Ridley to send Everett the device, which she used to steal credit card information from her customers.
