Two Teens Hit By Pickup Truck, One Killed

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Carrollton Police said two teens were hit by a pickup truck and one of them was killed.

Police said a 16-year-old and a 18-year-old man were struck near the intersection of Bankhead Highway and Somerset Place Saturday.

Authorities tell Channel 2's Tony Thomas the pickup truck was involved in a minor accident with a Jeep, when it went off the road and struck the two teens who were waiting to cross the street.

Investigators said one of the teens had to be removed from undeeath the pickup after the accident.

Police said the 18-year-old had died from his injuries at the scene. The 16-year-old man was flown to Atlanta Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this point.

Investigators are not releasing the teens’ names pending family notification.

The accident is still under investigation.
