Emergency crews are at a Decatur home after a huge oak tree split in half and came crashing down on the house early on Wednesday moing.

 

Part of the tree fell on a home on South McDonough Street. Neighbor Josephine Burley says she heard the wind blowing all night, and when she looked out the window of her home to the house, she saw a bright flash. She heard a sound but had no idea a tree fell on her neighbor's home.

 

"I wanted to make sure they was all right because they are my neighbors. They look out for me and I look out for them," said Burley.

 

Burley says her son came to her home to let the dog out, and told her a tree had fallen on the neighbor's home next door.

 

A woman living at the damaged home says the tree came crashing into her bedroom.

 

The standing half of the tree appears to be leaning, and authorities are keeping a close eye it. Decatur police, fire crews and Georgia Power working to clear the debris.

No one was injured in the incident.
