The man accused of trying to abduct a little girl from a Bremen Walmart had a criminal background.

Thomas Woods, 25, allegedly grabbed Brittney Baxter and tried to carry her away on Wednesday. Surveillance footage captured the abduction attempt.

Authorities say Woods was on state probation under the Department of Corrections as part of a 2004 prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter, according to DeKalb County District Attoey Robert James.
