There’s something seriously weird about Rousimar Palhares’ forearm
WHATEVER you do, don't agree to take on Rousimar Palhares in an arm-wrestle. You will lose.
The MMA fighter is banned from competing in the UFC due to his track record of fighting dirty, but he hasn't lost focus on bulking up. He's actually training for a jiu-jitsu fight against Garry Tonon at the Polaris Pro 3 event in the UK on April 2 — and by the looks of it, Tonon is in for one heck of a battle.
Palhares posted a picture of himself on Twitter (with a fair few filters by the looks of it) alongside some training partners, and there's one thing that stands out.
His forearm.
You know, the part of the body that connects the elbow to the hand? Well, Palhares looks like he had his forearm replaced with a tree trunk — in fact, let's make that two tree trunks — because the size of that thing is unlike any forearm that's come before.
Ben Kiely of Sports Joe said it best when describing what his 43,500 followers could see.
'The dude's got a bigger forearm than Popeye,' Kiely wrote.
'At the moment, his forearm simply doesn't look human.'
Good luck Garry Tonon, you're going to need it.
