Teen Hit by Boat While Tubing on Lake Lanier

A teenager was critically injured after she was struck by a boat while tubing on Lake Lanier over the weekend.

Officials with the Department of Natural Resources say the 15-year-old girl was tubing with her family on Sunday afteoon when she fell out of her tube. They say a boat tried to swerve and avoid her, but instead it hit the girl.

 

According to officials, the teen was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital with a serious head injury. She was listed in critical condition on Sunday night. Her name has not yet been released.

Officials say it does not appear that the driver of the boat was to blame for the accident.
