ATLANTA -- A star Georgia Tech baseball player was charged with drunken driving, police said.

Matthew Skole, 21, was arrested on Feb. 3 on East Andrews Drive in Buckhead when a Georgia State Patrol officer said he saw Skole travel outside his lane several times.

The officer said he smelled alcohol on Skole, and the Yellow Jacket infielder had bloodshot eyes.

Skole told the officer he was driving from his home and had drank a Bourbon and Coke, according to the police report. Skole agreed to field sobriety tests but did not agree to the breath test, police said.

He was arrested and taken to the Atlanta City Jail on charges of DUI and failure to maintain lane.

Skole is a native of Woodstock and was named to the 2010 All-ACC team. Skole entered the season tied for 11th on the school’s all-time career home run list, according to the team website.
