Glee star Charice Pempengco has come out as a lesbian. The Filipino singer (who plays Sunshine Corazon on the show), made the admission during an interview with a Filipino television entertainment show. Pempengco, who broke down in tears when asked about rumours regarding her sexual orientation, responded, "Yes, I am a lesbian."
The singer then admitted she has become estranged from her family, before apologising to fans who might be "disappointed".

"But to those who can accept me, thank you very much," she said, adding, "We are all equal, whether you are gay or straight."
She later filmed a video to thank fans for their support. "Honestly, I'm very, very happy. I can't explain how happy I am right now hearing all [these] positive things." Good for you, Charice.
