Teacher poured pencil shavings in student's mouth, mom says
Pouring pencil shavings in a kid's mouth won't get you fired in Texas

The line between appropriate and inappropriate discipline can be pencil thin, but one Arlington, Texas, teacher has wandered onto the wrong side of it, according to the mother of an eighth-grader at Boles Junior High School. A teacher found 13-year-old Marquis Jay in class with his head tilted back, mouth open. So what did she reportedly do? She "poured … pencil shavings in my mouth," Jay told CBS 11 News. He went to the nurse's office.

His mother was notified. But the teacher was only suspended — not fired — and is now back at work. Jay's mother, Deidre Brown, isn't satisfied. Brown said if the teacher doesn't "have the patience to not know that’s not something she is not supposed to do," she should not be teaching. [Source]
