Suspect dies after officer-involved shooting in College Park
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - Police say a man is dead after crashing his car while trying to flee the scene of an early-moing shooting in College Park.
According to the Fulton police report, an officer responded to the Baby Grand Piano Bar located on 5328 Old National Highway around 4 am about a person struck by a vehicle call. When the officer arrived, he saw the suspected vehicle fleeing the scene. The officer, along with an armed security guard, shot at the fleeing vehicle.
The GBI said in a statement. "The vehicle continued to flee out of the parking lot and wrecked a short distance later."
The suspect was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
No further details were immediately available.
The investigation is ongoing.
