Sub Christopher Bailey fired for allegedly posting suggestive photos of students

A local substitute teacher is out of a job after the school fired him for allegedly posting suggestive photos of the students online.

The Coweta County School District fired Christopher Bailey, but investigators got a look on his phone. One photo has detectives in Ohio looking at possible charges.

"All of the girls were afraid they were exposed online," student Tyler Sperberg told Channel 2's John Bachman.

Sperberg, a junior at East Coweta High School, said Bailey was a regular sub in the school.

"He was actually very regular substitute. I'd almost see him on a daily basis," Sperberg said.

A school district spokesperson said someone sent them a tip about Bailey posting suggestive pictures of female students online. They immediately notified the sheriff's office. Detectives got a warrant for Bailey's phone and found the posted photos.

Bachman said the school district fired Bailey a day after getting that tip. Investigators with the sheriff's office said what he did was creepy, but not criminal.

"Hopefully we stopped something that more than likely would've been a whole lot worse than it is," Coweta Sheriff Mike Yeager said.

Channel 2 obtained a mugshot of Bailey's 2010 arrest for speeding in Spalding County. He might still go to jail for the latest investigation, but it would be for charges in Ohio.

When Coweta investigators searched his home, they didn't find anything they could charge him with locally, but there is an alleged exchange with a girl in Ohio that police are now investigating.

Bachman called Bailey and left a phone message, but he has not yet heard back from him. Bachman is also trying to find contact authorities to determine whether Bailey will be charged in Ohio.
