Fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fatal fire in Griffin that claimed three lives oveight.
The fire happened early Sunday moing at a home on Day Street.
One victim managed to escape but went back to try to save the others, fire officials said.
The Spaulding County Coroner’s Office confirmed the victims were Andrew Foster, 82, Mary Sears, 75, and Terry Jones, 54.
Griffin Fire Department Chief Tommy Jones told a local reporter Jones was the son of couple Sears and Foster, and went back to the home to try to rescue them.
He was taken to a hospital where he later died, he said.
