Snapchat may be adding 3D modelling to its list of filters

According to a report on TechCrunch, Snapchat has recently bought the app Seene which lets users create 3 dimensional models of objects using only a smartphone camera.

The stand-alone Seene app is still in the app store following the takeover, and it's not clear when Snapchat will add the 3D modeling into its insanely popular filters but it is clear that the added dimension is going to add all new dimensions to the silliness.

One of the main marketing points for Seene is that it allows you to make a 3D model of your avatar for use in a virtual reality space. Without Seene a part of the Snapchat family, it might be just a matter of time before we can all dive into virtual reality with our puppy noses and giant ears.
