A new Facebook app called Citizen Cosponsor will let users support legislation through their Facebook profiles and then receive updates on how a bill is faring as it makes it way through the legislative process.

House of Representatives Majority Leader Eric Cantor introduced the app on YouTube today, saying it was \"an innovative way to stay in touch with your member of Congress.\"

Certainly much less trouble than writing a letter, canvassing for a campaign or attending a protest.
